You wouldn't Adam & Eve it, but the Greco grape - like many varietalsacross Southern Italy - probably originates from Greece. This Greco'sintriguing aromatic flavour, compared by some to Viognier, is probablythanks to Taurasi's volcanic soil combined with the area's warm sunshine.

History
Antica Hirpinia sits just outside Taurasi, which famously boomed as awine making centre after the opening of the "wine railway"from Avellino to Roccheta Sant'Antonio in 1895. The real story of Antica Hirpinia began in 1959 with the creation of the province's first cooperative winery. Today, led by a group of friends who took it over in 2016, Antica Hirpinia aim to produce wines that communicate the passion and intensity of their land - as proudly Campanian as they are!
