Shipping & Delivery Policy

Last Updated: March 2026

This policy forms part of the McGrocer Terms of Service. By placing an order on McGrocer and confirming the International Shipping Information at checkout, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.

Orders typically begin processing shortly after checkout.

1. Our Service

McGrocer is a cross-border commerce platform that enables customers worldwide to purchase everyday consumer products available from UK retailers.

Customers can shop from multiple retailers in a single basket, and McGrocer handles the sourcing, consolidation, and international delivery of those items.

Products are purchased from established UK retail stores and authorised distributors after an order is placed, then prepared for export and dispatched through our international courier network.

Our courier partners collect shipments from our fulfilment facility daily and deliver orders worldwide using express international services.

2. International Shipping

McGrocer currently ships to 150+ countries worldwide.

Shipping availability may vary depending on:

  • UK export regulations

  • Courier service coverage

  • Destination country restrictions

  • International sanctions or trade controls

Some destinations may experience customs inspections or regulatory delays.

3. Importer of Record

For international shipments, the customer acts as the Importer of Record.

This means you are responsible for ensuring that the products ordered comply with the import laws of your country.

Customers are responsible for confirming that items ordered are permitted for import into their destination country before placing an order.

4. Duties, Taxes & Import Charges

International shipments are typically sent Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).

Customers may be required to pay:

  • Import duties

  • Local VAT/GST

  • Customs clearance fees

  • Government inspection charges

These charges are determined by local authorities and are not controlled by McGrocer.

5. Customs Clearance

Customs authorities may inspect shipments entering a country.

Customs clearance procedures and regulatory decisions are outside McGrocer’s control.

Customers acknowledge that international shipments may experience delays or additional documentation requests during customs processing.

6. Customs Refusal & Returned Shipments

If a shipment is refused entry by customs authorities, returned due to import restrictions, or abandoned by the recipient:

  • Customers remain responsible for all shipping costs, customs charges, and return courier fees incurred.

  • If a returned shipment is received by McGrocer, any refund may be issued after deduction of all shipping, return handling, and related charges.

  • If goods are confiscated, destroyed, or abandoned by authorities, the order will not be eligible for refund or replacement.

7. Product Categories

Certain product categories may be subject to additional requirements depending on the destination country.

Examples include:

Alcohol

Age verification may be required. Some destinations require import permits.

Electrical Products

Items are supplied in UK specification (220–240V) with UK plugs.

We currently do not ship:

  • Frozen foods

Transit conditions may affect temperature-sensitive items.
