Storage

Sparkling wines and Champagne should alwaysbe stored in a cool and dry place away from light and heat sources. The idealtemperature for storage is 13-15 degrees C.   

Warning: Sparkling wines containhigh natural pressure. Do not allow bottles to get warm. Chill bottle beforeopening and avoid shaking. Point bottle away from others and yourself whenremoving wire, hood and cork. Hold the cork firmly and twist out slowly byhand. Never in any circumstances use a corkscrew to open.

Tasting Notes
The nose is fresh, delicate and saline. On the palate, the attack is fresh and frank. Then appear the first aromas of candied citrus and roasted pears notes. Finally, refreshing notes of green hazelnuts and almonds arise.

History
Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot, the house was later taken over by his widow Madame Clicquot at the age of 27 in 1810. Through determination, intuition and acumen Madame Clicquot not only created the first recorded vintage in the champagne region but built up the Veuve Clicquot property to make it one of the foremost vineyards in all of Champagne

Regional Information
Produced in Champagne, a small wine producing region in the northeast of France. Maison Veuve Clicquot is located in Reims, the largest city in the Champagne province.

2012

Vinification Details
2012 was a year of extremes, with heavy rain in spring, then hail which ruined 1,000 hectares of vines in Champagne. But despite dire predictions, good weather finally brought the grapes to optimal ripeness. Like all Veuve Clicquots, the 2012 is dominated by Pinot Noir, (51%), with Chardonnay (34%) and Meunier (15%). With the Pint Noir's influence and some ageing in oak, the 2012 has all the character of a classic.
