Terrezas de los Andes grows its grape at the ideal altitude for each variety, allowing them to develop the maximum expression of aromas and flavours.The grapes of Terrezas Malbec are sourced from specially selected terraces in the top quality districts of Mendoza at 1,067 metres above sea level.Vineyard: Shallow, sand-free, permeable soils. Significant fluctuation between day and night temperature (15°C). Vines irrigated by traditional system with the Andes Mountain snowmelt.Ageing: 12 months in oak 80% French and 20% American, 30% new oak.Colour: Deep, dark purple red.Aroma: Extremely fruity. Black cherries, prunes and raisins are combined with vanilla, caramel and toasted notes to define a very complex nose. Hints of violets stand out, typical of Malbec.Palate: Great body, structure and volume; a powerful wine. Despite its concentration, its round and ripe tannins provide a soft and young character, that anticipate great ageing potential.

History
Beyond French shores, Malbec cultivation began in the 18th century, reaching South America in the 19th century, when certain strains were grown in Chile and Argentina. In the early 20th century, most of Mendoza's vineyards were dominated by the so-called "French grape" (Malbec).

Regional Information
Argentina boasts a great diversity of terroirs, with 206,464 hectares (510,184 acres) of cultivated area. The vineyards stretch from north to south, from 22 to 42 degrees latitude, accompanying the Andes and bathing them with their intense colours.

1. Hand-harvesting during the month of April.2. Cluster destemming and slight berry crushing.3. Controlled fermentation and gentle maceration for 21 days average, alternating pumping over and delestage.4. Ageing for 12 - 14 months in 1 to 4 uses French oak barrels.5. Bottle ageing: 6 months minimum.
