Bourgogne Gamay became a new regional appellation in 2011. It is a blend exclusively from the 10 Cru Beaujolais appellations. Louis Latour's approach is to produce a wine which focuses on fruit and freshness with consistent quality.

Tasting Notes
This wine is shimmering garnet red in colour. On the nose red fruit aromas are revealed. In the mouth it is well-balanced, round and rich, revealing flavours of wild strawberry and fresh almonds.

History
The Latour family are long established in Burgundy's wine trade. They began as vine growers in the village of Aloxe-Corton as early as 1760s and went on to establish today's business, Maison Louis Latour, in 1797. Today they are one of the region's most famous names, creating wines from their own 50 hectare domaine in the Cote d'Or and from grapes and wines purchased through the negociant arm of the business.

Regional Information
A pretty region just south of Burgundy producing fruity, mainly red wines from the Gamay grape. The flatter land in the southern part of the region accounts for about half the production of AC Beaujolais. A quarter of wines made are Beaujolais Village wines from the hillier sites. Finally, the regions finest wines come from the ten 'crus' in the northern half of the area: Brouilly, Chenas, Chiroubles, Cote de Brouilly, Fleurie, Julienas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Regnie and St Amour.
