Every 6 bottles of 17 Trees purchased will go towards planting 1 tree in Australia. Packaged using recycled and recyclable materials: lighter weight bottle (360g v 495g) made from recycled glass, label is made from recycled paper created from natural fibre based pulp derived from sugar cane waste, inks made with best practices for low environmental impact, recycled cartons and recyclable screw caps. De Bortoli have partnered up with not for profit organisation Trillion Trees to plant native trees for a sustainable future. Trillon Trees has been planting trees since 1979, with the vision to plant 1 trillion trees. Furthermore De Bortoli are at the very forefront when it comes to sustainability. They know that their future lies in looking after the health of their soils and plants and carefully managing their precious water resources. And they go well beyond mandatory requirements, adopting a wide range of innovative programs and practices. Water management, an ongoing move to biological farming in an increasing number of their vineyards, and a careful overhaul of their packaging and waste management practices. Light to medium straw in colour. Complex white peach, grilled nuts & citrus aromas. Textural, creamy palate with a fine acid finish.

Since 2005 we have been committed to sustainability, and the '17 Trees Program' was started in 2008 whereby 17 trees are planted for each company vehicle to offset the effect of our fleet. Fruit is harvested at night, pressed and left to settle until the next day. Some of the juice is pressed straight to barrel for a natural ferment. Warm fermentation & extended lees contact help give a wine full of flavour and texture. 20% of wine has gone through malolactic fermentation naturally in barrel. 80% of the blend is fermented in old French oak barriques & Hogs Heads. Wine is then left in barrel to mature on yeast lees for 12 months with minimal stirring.
