History
Chateau de Montgueret is a large estate covering 100 hectares in the Loire Valley. It covers the Anjou, Saumur and Coteaux du Layon appellations. Built in 1880, the Chateau is a pure example of Napoleon III style. It also uses three materials from the region, Saumur Tufa, Anjou Schist and Sevres Brick, on a hillside overlooking Layon.

Regional Information
The Montgueret estate is in Anjou on the edge of Saumur, and covers the villages of Nueil-sur-Layon, Passavant-sur-Layon, Clere-sur-Layon and Vaudelnay. It is traversed by the River Layon, a left-bank tributary of the Loire.
