Tasting Notes
Deep and full with gorgeous baked apple and pear, red berries and apricot topped off with toasted nuts and brioche. There is a touch of white pepper and spice all underpinned by the signature Giraud salinity.

History
The origins of Champagne Henri Giraud go back to 1625. At the beginning of the 20th century Leon Giraud, a veteran of the Battle of the Marne, married a young lady Hemart. He rebuilt the family's magnificent vineyard that had just been devastated by phylloxera and First World War. Claude Giraud, 12th generation of the Giraud-Hemart family, today presides over the destiny of this Champagne House.

Regional Information
Ay in Champagne is famous for its chalk. The soil in the vineyards is only on average 20cm deep lying on top of 200 metres of chalk. The south-facing slopes produce lovely ripe grapes which is tempered by the cooling effext of the Marne river which snakes through the valley.
