In the stillness of our quiet glen at Glengoyne Distillery, we know patience is rewarded. For every minute other whiskies spend in their stills, ours spends three. Only then is it transferred to casks themselves prepared for six years.
Our 21-Year-Old is matured in 100% European oak oloroso sherry casks, some of the very rarest in the industry. This is the Glengoyne Way, and this is the result: Christmas cake in a whisky glass. Generous notes of honey and rich fruit with a long cinnamon finish. Matured exclusively in sherry casks for a heavenly after-dinner dram.
While we respect the past at Glengoyne, we also believe in protecting our future. Our liquid waste is cleansed in CO2-capturing reed beds and our solid waste is harvested for enough energy to power 354 homes each year. We also harness the power of the wind to help us reach our destination by sourcing all our electricity from turbines. The packaging for this Glengoyne 21-Year-Old is 100% recyclable, made from 77% recycled materials, free of magnets and plastic and sourced almost entirely in Scotland. At Glengoyne, we raise our glass to a greener future.
Beyond our packaging, nature really does come alive at Glengoyne Distillery, making our environmental footprint even lighter. Our namesake and endangered white-fronted goose travels 100km from Greenland every year to our distillery and we support them through our sponsorship of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust – helping their mission of safeguarding and improving wetlands for wildlife as well as funding a key project in protecting those geese. Our resident beehives also help contribute to lower carbon in the air surrounding our beautiful home and help contribute to the healthier and ever more varied plant and animal life at Glengoyne Distillery.
