History
Navarrsotillo is a family-run winery located in Calahorra, La Rioja, Spain. The company was officially founded in 1995 by Andrs Serrano and Ramn Serrano, two brothers; joined the efforts of their family farms, in which they have been organically growing grapes during the last few decades. In our work there is no room for chemical products like weed-killers, pesticides or phytosanitaries; because we firmly believe that the health of the soil is of paramount importance.

Nestled in Rioja Oriental, the Navarrsotillo family owns 70 hectares of premium organic and biodynamic vineyards that benefit from cool winters and hot, dry summers. The Ebro river valley creates a natural barrier and has a tempering effect both from the cold and rainy fronts from the Bay of Biscay and from the warm and dry winds from the central Spanish plateau.

Vinification Details
This estate is a pioneer for biodynamic harvesting and their quality is unrivalled. The grapes are both machine and hand harvested. They are fermented using natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature then matured in French and American oak barrels for 2 months. The winery is powered by solar energy and the final product is made from 85% recycled materials.
