Inspired by the coastal vitality of Salcombe and its shipbuilding heritage, multi-award winning Salcombe Gin âRosé Sainte Marie' is distilled in the iconic coastal town of Salcombe in the Southwest of England at one of the world's only distilleries directly accessible by boat. âRosé Sainte Marie' is a delicate, fresh and truly exquisite gin inspired by the aromas, flavours and lifestyle of the South of France and is a celebration of adventure, colour, freshness and joy; capturing the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean coast. Named after the iconic âSainte Marie' lighthouse which marks the Southern entrance to the Old Port of Marseille, from where 19th century Salcombe Fruit Schooners would load fresh citrus fruits and herbs bound for England's ports. This gin is one of only two âpink' gins in the world to have been awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. More recently, was awarded a Double Gold at the 2020 SIP Awards. Tasting Notes: Distilled and crafted using the finest Macedonian juniper berries to provide structure in the background, partnered with a natural, but not overpowering soft sweetness from strawberries and angelica. Fresh citrus peels of lemon and orange which are hand peeled each day prior to distillation and combined with ten further hand-sourced botanicals including lavender, lemon verbena, rose petals, orange blossom and pink peppercorns are combined adding subtle finesse. On the palate it has fullness and intensity whilst remaining smooth with an endearing and lingering softness to finish. No added sugar or artificial colouring. It is purposefully dry in style. Naturally pink through the use of strawberries. Best served: On its own over ice or with a premium Indian tonic water and a slice of strawberry to accentuate the bouquet of red fruit or a twist of fresh lemon peel to bring the fragrant citrus to the fore. 1% for the Ocean: For every bottle of Salcombe Gin 'Rosé Sainte Marie' sold in the UK, Salcombe Distilling Co. donates 1% to the Marine Conservation Society.
