Please read the following information carefully before applying Sainsbury's head lice lotion.
If a member of the family has head lice then check other family members and anyone with lice should be treated at the same time.
Cover the shoulders with a towel.
Spray sufficient lotion over dry hair and massage into the hair to ensure that the hair and scalp are fully covered. Be careful not to spray into eyes or face and do not breathe the spray
Work in to the hair spreading the lotion evenly from roots to tips. This can be done using the device provided. The amount of lotion required will depend upon the thickness and length of the hair. Particular attention should be paid to the nape of the neck and around the ears as this is where the lice are most often found.
After the lotion has been on for at least 60 minutes, section the head before using the device comb from the roots to the tips to remove the suffocated lice, cleaning the device with a tissue between combings.
For optimal performance leave the lotion on the hair for at least 8 hours, ideally overnight. This will help remove any lice which may have been missed and also any eggs which can strongly adhere to the hair.
After this time wash hair with your normal shampoo, rinse thoroughly with water and dry. A second wash may be necessary to remove all the lotion.
It is important that the lotion is applied again after seven days, using the same procedure as above, to deal with any lice which may have hatched within that time. Failure to repeat the treatment may result in the return of louse infestation. This process can be repeated after another seven days if necessary.
