Petroleum jelly is widely used in the skincare industry and after researching its long refining process from crude oil, which is a non-renewable resource, we had to create an alternative that was natural, sustainable, and safe to use.
In the process, we have created a balm that not only acts as a barrier but also provides the skin moisture to soothe dry skin. This is because, unlike petroleum jelly, the ingredients in our balm such as the unrefined organic shea butter, act as a non-comedogenic barrier that when teamed with the organic safflower oil, provides a non-greasy layer that doesn’t clog your pores and leaves the skin moisturised.
We pride ourselves on only using high quality, organic and sustainably sourced ingredients in this balm and across the whole Obvs range.
