This was later taken over by the Khne family who, in 1832, became the first vinegar producers in Germany to introduce a revolutionary quick brewing process enabling them to transform a craftsmans business into a high-class manufacturing company. This, in turn, led to the launch of other products including mustard, mayonnaise, sauerkraut, red pickled cabbage, dill relish and dill pickles and, of course, cucumbers in the form of whole pickled gherkins.
