wine estate was built in 1920 and by 1947 the wine cellar was completed and a
group of local farmers starting making wines under the Franschhoek Cellar
name. In 2008, a return to private ownership saw Franschhoek Cellar
move back to its roots in celebrating its heritage and focusing on creating
varietal wines that reflect our unique South African terroir. Franschhoek is
one of the truly great wine & food destinations in South Africa. Regional Information
Fruit is
sourced from only the best vineyards and growers, from the best-suited
regions for each variety to create distinctive fruit-driven wines. By
selecting and sourcing grapes from the broad boundaries of the Cape
