Preparation and Usage
Step 1: oven Preheat the oven to 200C, 190C fan assisted, Gas mark 6. Step 2: frying pan Brown the mince and onion in a large pan. Drain off any excess fat. Step 3: measuring jug Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and stir into the mince, add the carrots and peas. Bring to the boil stirring continously, then transfer to an ovenproof casserole dish. Step 4: Plate/knife/fork Spoon the mashed potato over the mince and bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy with seasonal vegetables.

1 sachet Colman's Cottage Pie Recipe Mix
450g (1lb) lean minced beef
1 large onion, chopped
300ml (1/2pt) cold water
3 medium carrots, sliced
160g frozen peas
700g (1 1/2lb) cooked mashed potato
How to Cook:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6 (190C for fan assisted).
2. Brown the mince and onion in a large pan. Drain off any excess fat.
3. Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and stir into the mince, adding the carrots and peas.
4. Bring to the boil, stirring and then transfer to an ovenproof dish.
5. Spoon the mashed potato over the mince and bake for 30 minutes.
6. Ensure piping hot and serve immediately with seasonal vegetables.

Follow the steps but top the cooked mince with a generous layer of baked beans before covering with mashed potato.

Directions:
Fry It
1. Brown the mince and onions in a pan.
Season It
2. Mix the Colman's seasoning with water and add to the dish. Add the carrots and peas and bring to the boil.
Bake It
3. Place into an ovenproof dish. Spoon the mash on top and bake for 30 mins. Oven 200C, fan assisted 190C, Gas 6.
