William Morris decorated his own garden at Kelmscott Manor with many of the same flowers he reproduced in his wallpaper patterns. Sunflowers were among his favourites. This elegant design, printed on 100% cotton with fresh colours inspired by the archives, brings a modern interpretation to this historic William Morris pattern. He described the beloved flower as both interesting and beautiful, with its sharply chiselled yellow florets relieved by the quaintly patterned sad-coloured centre clogged with honey and beset with bees and butterflies.
