For an easy yet impressive Italian meal, this sauce brings bold, vibrant flavour straight from the pan. Waitrose puttanesca sauce is made in Italy with Taggiasca olives, capers and anchovies, finished with extra virgin olive oil and a gentle chilli heat. Angela Hartnett suggests pairing it with spaghetti alla Chitarra for a simple, classically rustic dish.
Crafted in Italy, this puttanesca brings together Taggiasca olives, capers and anchovies, simmered into a bright tomato base with extra virgin olive oil and rounded off with a gentle kick of chilli. A bright and vibrant classic that you'll return to again and again. Our pasta sauces are made by a family business that began growing vegetables in the Pianura Padana region in Northern Italy in the early 1900s. Founded in 1954, they make their sauces thoughtfully, to give a character that feels homemade. Angela's suggestion. Pairs beautifully with spaghetti alla Chitarra for a simple, classically rustic Italian dish.
