Daal is a staple of all Indian homes. It's our soul food & superfood rolled into one - comforting but packed with nutrients. Our Classic Lentil Tarka Daal is light, delicious and the perfect everyday, healthy food and ready in just minutes.

• Dry red chilli for clean heat
• Cumin seeds for a warming earthiness
• Black mustard seeds for a nutty note
• Curry leaves for aromatic warmth

Cooked Lentils (44%) (Water, Lentils (Bengal Gram, Red Lentil), Water, Onions, Sunflower Oil, Garlic, Tomato Paste, Salt, Ground and Whole Spices, Ginger, Cumin, Mustard Seeds

• 1. Fry the whole spices in 1-2 tsp of hot oil (or ghee) until sizzling
• 2. Stir in the tarka sauce (the small pouch) and bring to a simmer
• 3. Add the lentils and 4-5 tbsp water, bring to a simmer... then serve!

Stir in fresh spinach for a speedy one-pot meal.

• Add two pierced whole green chillies in with the spices for added flavour
• Stir in a large handful of baby spinach
• For special occasions, add a knob of butter

Serve as a main course or as a side to a proper Indian meal
