Champagne Brut Réserve
Champagne Brut Réserve
Established atop Gallo-Roman chalk quarries listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and on a vineyard of 288 hectares, the family-run Maison Taittinger is driven by the pursuit of excellence. Finesse, elegance and precision define the style of its wines.
Brut Réserve reveals a wine characterised by the vibrancy of its predominantly Chardonnay blend. While Pinot Noir guarantees structure, its lower proportion of Meunier lends delicate sweetness to this timeless blend. The grapes are selected from more than 35 different terroirs and several harvests.

History: Champagne Taittinger's origins date back to 1734. The Taittinger link was established in 1931 when Pierre Taittinger acquired the House. He was stationed at the Château de la Marquetterie when serving in the 1st World War and fell in love with the property and its vineyards and eventually purchased the company. Today, the Reims based House is one of the few key Champagne houses to remain owned and actively managed by the family named on the label.
Regional information: Taittinger Nocturne is a 'Sec' Champagne made from 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The finished blend includes over 30 'crus'. The wine is aged on its lees for at least 4 years, often longer, before being 'disgorged'. A dosage of 17.5g of cane sugar per litre is then added. This dosage is twice that of Taittinger Brut Réserve NV.
Vinification: Produced each year from first pressings of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, this is the definitive cuvée of Champagne Taittinger and is a carefully balanced blend of wine from more than 35 crus. It also includes a proportion of reserve wine to ensure consistency from year to year. Prior to release, the Brut Réserve is aged for 3-4 years giving the wine depth whilst allowing the component parts to become fully integrated.
