Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes, Monologo Crianza is an approachable oak-aged Rioja with aromas of ripe red fruit, liquorice and vanilla.Garnet red in colour, it is aged for 12 months in American oak barrels. On the mouth it is refreshing and balanced, with pleasant tannin notes, the oak is just a little more dominant than the fruit.This is a wine which perfectly matches any type of food. It is a good aperitif, and pairs well with cooked and cured meats. As well as grilled or roast meats.Serve at room temperature, between 15 and 18 ºC.

History
Bodegas Solar Viejo winery was founded in 1937 in the medieval town of Laguardia, Alava. Its name comes from `Casas Solariegas, which are the traditional noblemens houses inside the town, where the first Solar Viejo wine was made with de Denomination of Origin of Qualified Rioja, D.O.C. Rioja.

Regional Information
The present winery is located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa at the base of Sierra de Cantabria mountains, specifically In the Camino de la Hoya, where there was a Celtic Iberian settlement more than 3.000 years ago. The combination of top quality grapes, a long wine making traditions of the area and new technology allows us to offer highest quality wines.

Vinification Details
The key to this harvest was in exceptionally favourite weather, all the way through to the end of the ripening cycle, which produced healthy, ripe grapes, with relatively low yeilds. The quality of its wines is due to its privileged location: clay and calcareous soils, semi-dry climate and protection from old North winds by the Sierra de Cantabria mountains.
