As a part of our ongoing commitment to reduce our environmental impact, The Singleton has installed a new weir and fish pass in the river Dullan that feeds the Dufftown distillery – The three and a half year project will significantly improve upstream biodiversity and increase the opportunity for spawning trout and salmon.
Same as its beloved whisky predecessors, The Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master Selection gets distilled in the Dufftown distillery in Speyside, the heart of malt whisky production in Scotland. Whisky has been distilled at the distillery since 1896 and from fermentation to distillation we do our utmost best to ensure every drop of spirit is of the highest quality. The Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master's Selection has the trademark Singleton's sweet fruity smoothness, with fresh hints of honey and vanilla coupled with fresh pear on a faint base of wood ash.; mellow and buttery smooth. The famous distiller family is renowned for their rich Speyside character - which comes from a longer fermentation and distillation for a well-rounded flavour. Founded in the 19th century, Dufftown is located at the heart of the Speyside region of Scotch Whisky production. In our early years, the water from Jock’s Well, an artesian spring upstream, had been diverted to rivals at night a number of times. We are proud to still use this pure water today.
