Method 1: place 250g (8oz) into 1.21 ltr (2.25 pints) of water, stir and return the water to a rolling simmer. Cook uncovered for 7-10 minutes until tender, drain and sieve with boiling water then serve.
Method 2: place 250g (8oz) into 450ml (0.75 pints) of water, bring to boil, stir once and return to a gentle simmer. Cover with a tight fitting lid. Cook without removing the lid for 7-10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and allow to stand for 5-6 minutes before serving. After cooking you may like to add a small amount of butter or oil if preferred.
