Select was created in 1920 in the Castello district of Venice, the historical heart of the city, at Pilla Distilleries, a place renowned for the art of liquor making.
During the postwar period the young Pilla brothers contributed to the rebirth of this magnificent city.
When the popularity of the aperitif began to spread, the Spritz soon became a favorite, establishing Select as the star of the Venetian cocktail scene.
Thanks to its ancient link with the city and its enduring success, Select is recognized as the classic Venetian Aperitif. Its refined and complex formula, inspired by the original recipe, maintains its distinctive flavor.
Select is made by carefully blending 30 botanicals, including juniper berries, for their balsamic and floral characteristics, with rhubarb root, which provides intensely bitter notes for balance.
Select is the result of a careful and complicated production process that lasts no less than nine months and that faithfully follows the steps of the original recipe to guarantee an excellent quality.

Select Spritz
Select, with its refined aromatic profile and balanced bittersweet taste, is the essential ingredient for the Original Venetian Spritz, a drink topped, according to the traditional recipe, with a large green olive.
3 parts prosecco
2 parts select
1 splash soda water
1 large green olive
Pour cold prosecco into a wine glass over ice. Add Select, a splash of soda water and gently stir together. Garnish with a large green olive and enjoy in good company.

150ml Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
50ml Select
Soda Water
Pour 50ml of Select and half the orange juice into a hi-ball glass over 2 cubes of ice and stir. Fill glass with more ice and add the rest of the orange juice before topping with soda water. Garnish with an orange wedge.

25ml Peach Puree
90ml Prosecco
Mix the Select and peach puree in a glass over ice. Strain into a champagne flute and top with chilled prosecco. Garnish with an Orange slice.
