Just Add:
- 300ml semi-skimmed milk
2 Easy Steps...
1 Stir the sauce mix with milk in a small saucepan.
2 Bring to the boil gently, stirring continuously. Simmer for a couple of mins, until sauce is smooth and thickened.
Microwave (800W)... Microwave ovens vary. The following is a guide only. Empty the sauce mix into a large microwaveable bowl or jug. Stir in milk and heat on full power for 4 mins, stirring every minute until smooth and thickened. Stir well and ensure sauce is piping hot before serving.
Try Something Different: Delicious with pan-fried steak, chunky chips, mushrooms and peas. Pan-fry sliced steak and mushrooms in a little brandy, pour over the prepared sauce and simmer until rich and smooth. Delicious served with rice and green beans.
Instructions
You will need.
1 packet Schwartz Creamy Mild Peppercorn Sauce Mix. 300ml ( pint) milk. 25g (1oz) butter (optional).
Directions.
1. Empty the packet contents into a small saucepan.
2. Blend in the milk and bring to the boil, stirring continuously.
3. Add the butter and simmer for 1-2 minutes until sauce has thickened.
Microwave.
Directions for 750W: Empty packet contents into a microwaveable bowl. Blend in milk. Cook on HIGH for 4 minutes, stirring every minute until thickened. Add butter and cook on HIGH for a further minute or until butter has melted. Stir well before serving.
Hints & Tips: Great served with steak or pork chops. For a quick Beef Stroganoff style recipe, pour the prepared sauce over pan fried strips of beef and sliced mushrooms cooked in a little brandy and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Ideal served with rice.
