Sancerre Red Les Champs Clos is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in vineyards of the upper reaches of the Loire Valley in Northern France. Pinot Noir from Sancerre produces light, beguiling reds with notes of violet and strawberry.

History: Caves des Vins Sancerre was founded in 1963 when a handful of local growers joined forces to face up to the economic difficulties of the time. The cooperative cellar was created in the heart of the vineyard in the city of Sancerre. Caves des Vins Sancerre remains the only co-operative in the appellation and now includes over one hundred vine growers.
Regional Information: The Sancerre vineyard extends over 2770 hectares. Dominating the Loire, the vineyards of Sancerre were destined for great winemaking. Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages over magnificent hills perfectly suited for the vine.
Vinification: Pneumatic pressing after alcoholic fermentation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 17°C and lasts 10 days. Yeast is added (no indigenous yeast used). After fermentation, the wine is left to macerate in tank at 25°C for 15 days before de-vatting and pressing. Matured in tank.
