Preparation and Safety

1 sachet of Sainsbury's shepherd’s pie recipe mix
450g (1lb) lean lamb mince 
1 medium onion, diced
2 carrots, sliced
175g (6oz) peas, frozen
300ml (½ pint) cold water
700g (1 ½lb) cooked mashed potato
 
Before Cooking
Pre-heat the oven. Heat 15mls of oil in a frying pan.
 
During Cooking
Fry 450g lean lamb mince and 1 diced medium onion in a pan over a medium high heat for 6 minutes until well browned. Drain off any excess fat.
Mix contents of Sainsbury's shepherd’s pie recipe mix sachet with 300ml cold water and pour over the mince. Add 2 sliced carrots and 175g frozen peas.
Bring to the boil, stirring frequently, and then transfer to an ovenproof dish.
Spoon the cooked mashed potato over the mince and cook in the oven for 30 minutes or until the potato turns golden brown.
 
After Cooking
Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary.
