450g lean minced beef

400g tin chopped tomatoes

400g tin kidney beans

Tomato puree
1 onion

 

Just Grab

1 sachet of chilli con carne mix
1 tbsp vegetable oil
450g lean minced beef
1 onion, finely diced
2 tbsp tomato puree
400g tin chopped tomatoes
400g tin kidney beans, drained & rinsed
125ml cold water

Before cooking: Heat 1tbsp of oil in a frying pan.
During cooking: Fry the lean beef mince and diced onion for 6 minutes over a high heat until brown. Drain excess liquid. Add sachet contents, chopped tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato puree and 125ml water. Bring to the boil, stirring. Cover, reduce to a low heat and simmer gently for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally until the beef is tender.
After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

Recipe suggestions: For a vegan recipe why not replace the minced beef with meat free mince or mixed beans.
