History: Bosman Family Vineyards is a pioneering South African estate where excellence in wine is inseparable from social and environmental integrity. From extending ownership through a workers' trust to spearheading social development projects in their farm communities, they've redefined what a wine business can be. Their model is built on care, control, and commitment-from regenerative farming and community upliftment to meticulous winemaking.
Regional information: The Shiraz sites range from plantings from 2001 to as young as 2013, including vineyards near Hermon, planted in Schist soils, and vineyards in the Bovlei valley in decomposed granite. A new addition since 2022 is grapes from the Voor-Paardeberg.
Vinification: The components are all hand harvested, de-stemmed; crushed and then undergoes a plunging and pump over regime for colour extraction. 20% of the blend undergoes malolactic fermentation and maturation in contact with French oak to extract a well-integrated oak component, with the remaining 80% of the blend aged in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. A small inclusion of Mediterranean cultivars from the contours of the Bovlei valley add specific nuances to this fruit forward Shiraz expression.
