The initials RTW stand for Red Winemaking Trial – the name given to the Penfolds project when development on this hearty shiraz began in 1995. Since the alphanumeric Bin designation 798 was bestowed upon the wine in 2016, the RTW shiraz has become an iconic member of the brand’s line-up; opulent and fleshy, it’s made from fruit primarily selected for its aromatic qualities and plush textures, resulting in a flavoursome burst of berry-like fruits, quince, star anise and cocoa dust.
