xBacchus, the Roman god of wine and revelry is reproduced here in intricate detail, as part of this Royal Selangor wine funnel.
Sculpted into the pewter funnel he is crowned with clusters of grapes and his beard tapers down to the tip. When wine is poured through the funnel it appears to be blown out through Bacchus' lips, into the wall of the decanter, and in doing so the aromas and flavours of the wine are fully released.
Pewter is almost maintenance-free as it does not react with the air to oxidise or tarnish. It can attract dust and dirt, but all that's required is an occasional wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
