While a lot of Napa Valley 2018 wines were bottled in and around July 2020, Harlan Estate’s Proprietary Cabernet was not contained until the late February and early March of 2021. Why? To allow the blend to soften and open its perfume. Deep garnet-purple in colour, it reveals a nose of blueberry pie, chocolate-covered cherries, mulberries and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of cumin seed, rose oil and black olives. Energetic with compelling tension and a long, earth-laced finish, it’s sure to impress the most particular of guests.
