Tasting Notes
Deep red-purple. Intense fruit aromas with notes of vanilla and toast from the 4 months spent in French oak barrels. The wine is round, balanced with well polished tannins. Fruit driven with background notes of cask and nuts, leading to a good finish.

History
The winter of 2018 was very cold, prolonging these low temperatures until the end of March. The rainfall was frequent during Spring until June. Temperatures were high throughout summer, and even in October were abnormally high, allowing the correct evolution of the grape to enter the winery at the optimum moment of maturation. Resulting in this vintage of Portia Roble, where fruit predominates and it is refreshing and persistent.

Regional Information
Grown in the vineyards Roa, Gumiel de Mercado, Sotillo de la Ribera and Villanueva de Gumiel at altitudes of 750-800m. Our vineyards have the highest average elevation in Europe for growing red wine grapes in what is known as the 'Golden Triangle' of Ribera del Duero.

Vinification Details
Portia is a state of the art modern winery designed by British architects Foster & Partners. We use a gravity-flow system which avoids the use of pumps to maximise efficiency, whilst minimising any damage to the grapes so the wine can preserve all the strength, intense fruit flavour and character of Tempranillo grapes from Ribera del Duero. Portia Roble is fermented at a temperature of 26 °C and aged for 4 months in French oak barrels.
