HistoryPiccini was founded back in 1882 by Angiolio Piccini who started with just 7 hectares. Piccini now has four separate estates in its portfolio and ranks as one of the most recognisable Tuscan brands worldwide with fourth generation Mario and Martina Piccini at the helm.
Regional informationChianti is one of the best known Italian regions producing distinctive red wines with fresh cherry fruit flavours and smooth tannins. The landscape and climate are characteristic of Tuscany with rolling hills with warm sunshine tempered by incoming sea breezes.
VinificationThe best Sangiovese grapes are selected for Piccini Chianti Riserva. The grapes undergo soft pressing before being processed using the traditional method on the skins. They are fermented at controlled temperatures with a long maceration period to extract maximum fruit and balanced tannins. The wine spends 9 months in large oak barrels before release
