Odysea Ajvar is the first chilled ajvar to launch in the UK, following on from the success of our ambient Ajvar dip launched in 2022.
Popular in northern Greece and the Balkans, ajvar's name comes from havyar (Turkish for caviar) and is known as 'poor man's caviar' as it was often eaten as a cheaper substitute for red caviar in the region. Our fresh Ajvar is made with just roasted pepper and aubergines, oil, a splash of vinegar, cayenne and smoked paprika.
Use it instead of harissa in sandwiches or with grilled vegetables and meat, blend with yoghurt to make a creamier dip, or add a touch of warmth to pie filling, pasta or risotto.
