Pomegranate molasses is a staple ingredient used extensively in Eastern Mediterranean cooking. Made only with pomegranate juice from carefully selected fruit that’s harvested from late August. Once the juice is extracted it’s slowly reduced to a thick syrup and nothing else is added.
This thick, ruby coloured syrup has a balanced sweet and sharp tartness that adds interest to a wide range of dishes. It makes a great salad dressing when mixed with olive oil, is ideal to brush over meat or poultry as a glaze or marinade, to simply drizzle over roast vegetables, fruit or yoghurt or added as a cordial to sparkling water or prosecco.
Awarded two Great Taste Stars by The Guild of Fine Foods in 2020, our pomegranate molasses was described by the judges as ‘flawless’, ‘carrying with it the sweet sharpness of the fruit, and quite some complexity’.
