Bruichladdich’s numbering system isn’t the only unique thing about Octomore whisky; distilled from the 2015 harvest, its series 13 single malt is made from 100% Scottish barley. What does the .1 mean? The well-balanced spirit is primarily aged in ex-American oak, resulting in a sweet, nutty nose of syrupy apricot, crème brulee and peat smoke, and a palate of burnt heather, almond and Turkish delight.
