While we’re sure Blandy’s Malmsey 1981 Madeira’s deep amber hue, toasted caramel aromas and notes of dried fruit and tangy orange are enough to convince you of its must-have value, its ageing process provides plenty of interest too. The blend spent time in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional Canteiro system, where barrels are gradually transferred from the top floors of the Blandy's lodge.
