Sip Maker's Mark 46 Bourbon neat or on the rocks. This small batch bourbon from Kentucky is finished with seared French oak staves for added depth.
When Bill Samuels, JR., the son of the founder of Maker's Mark distillery, decided to make a new bourbon, he made it a personal challenge to give whiskey lovers a bourbon that could be held on the tongue. The new creation featured much more of the natural vanilla and caramel notes that he admired in the original.
He and his team began experimenting with special barrels, different wood varieties and varying levels of char. After many tries, Bill found the answer - placing 10 seasoned, seared virgin French oak staves into a barrel of fully matured Maker's Mark®.
These special staves were on file with the Independent Stave Company as 'profile 46'. Hence, Maker's Mark 46® was born, leaving its own mark as a first-of-its-kind bourbon.
