History: The LFE winery is one of the closest to the Ocean in Leyda Valley. This wine is made from a combination of very expressive Sauvignon Blanc Clons in vineyards very well managed in order to achieve a good ripeness.
Regional information: Leyda has a mild climate. A long cool growing season allow production of cool climate grapes that result in refreshing wines with a snap of acidity. The dominant climate-related factor for grape growing is the cool ocean breeze from the Pacific, which is caused by the cold Humbolt Current. This cool breeze is crucial to achieve one of the best white wines from Chile.
Vinification: The grapes are crushed and destemmed and carefully pressed at low pressure in order to avoid phenol extraction. The clean juice, after decant by flotation, is fermented at 14-15ºCC during 20 days and then racked with fine lees. No oak treatment.
