Leeuwin Estate are amongst the pioneering generation of wineries established in the Margaret River in the early seventies. It is located some 300 kilometres south of Perth on the edge of the Indian Ocean.
The Arts Series Chardonnay is benchmark Australian Chardonnay. The nose is energetic and precise with remarkable clarity and purity with lime, and grapefruit. Delicate notes of jasmine, cardamom pod, flint, wet stone and almonds give subtle complexity in the background. The shape and frame of the palate is the highlight; volume, combined with length and a mineral acid line threaded in between. Grapefruit, pear and lemon are set in the foreground amongst nougat, brioche, cinnamon and graphite. Wine with incredible poise and presence, with a long life ahead.
Tasting note: rich and complex enough to stand up to richer white meats such as chicken and complex vegetable dishes.
