History
Founded in 1760, Maison Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne Houses. A family property, guaranteeing the lasting values of the brand. The son of the house's founder was a member of the Order of Malta, the oldest charity worldwide. Since 1798, the Maltese Cross has been adopted as the emblem of the Maison. Regional Information
Benefitting from a specific climate, soil quality and topography, the Champagne terroir includes a mosaic of micro-terroirs endowed with unique characteristics. The Champagne terroir has two major distinguishing features: northerly latitude and a dual climate that is subject to both oceanic and continental influences. Another key feature of the Champagne terroir is its predominantly limestone subsoil, which keeps the vines naturally watered all year round.
