Storage: Store flour in a cool, dry place, away from heat and moisture. Seal tightly after opening to maintain freshness. Do not pour new flour onto older flour.
Product Information: A finely ground whole wheat flour that is used to make flatbreads such as chapatti, roti, naan, paratha and puri. Dough made using atta flour is strong and can be rolled out into thin sheets.
Preparation and Usage: Ingredients for roti: 350 g Wholemeal flour, Optional pinch of salt, 250 ml warm water, 3 tbsp vegetable oil, Skillet or Tava for cooking roti, Rolling pin. Mix flour and salt (optional) together in a bowl. Add vegetable oil and stir. Gently add water, continually mixing until a semi soft dough. Cover with a moist cloth and rest for 10 minutes. Make small balls, slightly smaller than an egg in size. Flatten and roll on dry flour with a rolling pin. It should be 4-5 mm thick and 6-8 inch in diameter and round in shape. Cook in a preheated Skillet, tava or a Griddle until golden brown on both sides. Serve with a knob of butter.
