The design is based on the analogy of a staircase, where users of different sizes can sit down and quickly find a natural and good sitting position. The human body was developed to move, and KAOS Klapp allows the child to automatically change position, maintaining a natural movement. The fixed step ladders should never be adjusted so that the child can climb up and down from the chair themselves, fostering a great feeling of mastery from early on. As the child grows, the feet will find a natural, ergonomic position on various steps, providing a stable footrest at all times.

Klapp is made using plastic mixed with wood fibre. The wood fibre adds strength and stiffness, in addition to a unique and vibrant look. The material itself has unevenness to it, and when the material is injected into the moulds, the material flows organically, making it unique in its look.
