The nose shows cassis, raspberries, cherries, black, plums, cinnamon, allspice and a hint of chocolate. The palate is lively and fresh, with succulent summer berry flavours.
Pairs perfectly with Pizza, pasta, bbq food and a beef stew.
Kanonkop: Means Cannon Hill and is derived from the days when cannons were fired to signal the arrival of Dutch trade ships into Cape Town Harbour. A fourth generation family estate, it was originally purchased by JW Sauer and has been in the family ever since. Famed for its red wines and particularly its Pinotage.
