Lesley Birch is a painter and printmaker who currently lives and works in Yorkshire. Her paintings have been part of solo and group exhibitions across the UK, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
When Lesley paints landscapes, she doesn't just look to nature for inspiration. Instead, her own memories and emotional responses to the landscape, which she jots down in her many travel sketchbooks, take centre stage. With atmospheric, ethereal brushwork in a range of media, including oil paint and cold wax, Lesley recalls the places that she has visited, from the desolate beaches of her native Scotland to sunlit Italian villages.
