In addition, she leads personal barrel selection tastings with key customers for Tequila Herraduras By the Barrel program.Karinna began her career with Casa Herradura over 15 years ago. Prior to her role as Master Taster, Enriquez Hurtado served as a specialist at Casa Herradura with a focus in various facets of the tequila production process, including sensory evaluation, research and development, quality control and new product development.Karinna has a bachelors degree from the University of Guadalajara as a Licensed Pharmabiological Chemist. At the University, she completed expert seminars in Tequila at the Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters as well as extensive training in the tequila production process. Today, Enriquez teaches in a postgraduate course of Tequila Master, at the Autnoma University of Guadalajara. A native of Jerez de Garcia Salinas, she currently resides in Guadalajara.

Brand History: Tequila Herraduras long-standing legacy of craftsmanship dates back to 1870, at Casa Herradura. With a history as rich as the country itself, Casa Herradura, located in Jalisco, Mexico - the birthplace of tequila - is nothing short of extraordinary. Our Maestros select and our respected Jimadores harvest only the most mature plants which are up to six years of age. The pias are brought in from the fields and stacked in our clay ovens and steamed using the traditional method for at least 26 hours. Cooked pias are then crushed to extract the rich sugary juice or mosto. The mosto is moved to tanks for the neutral fermentation process. Unlike most other tequila producers, Tequila Herradura uses only the natural airborne yeasts from our surrounding fruit trees to ferment the mosto. This natural fermentation process takes a full four days. Fermented juices are then distilled twice in our stainless steel pot stills.
