He is well-versed in the history of the Hacienda of San Jose del Refugio, the homeplace of Casa Herradura, which hosts more than 60,000 visitors a year.Ruben is a proud native of Guadalajara, Mexico, and holds an MBA degree. He is fluent in English and brings a wealth of knowledge and vast experience to the Casa Herradura team.
Key Personality: KARINNA ENRIQUEZ HURTADOMASTER TASTERKarinna Enriquez Hurtado is the second female to serve as a master lead in the production department at the historic Casa Herradura in Jalisco, Mexico. Among her responsibilities she carries the role of Master Taster, oversees sensory and quality control for Casa Herradura products and works closely with the production team to ensure Tequila Herradura continues its legacy of innovation and excellence since 1870. In addition, she leads personal barrel selection tastings with key customers for Tequila Herraduras By the Barrel program.Karinna began her career with Casa Herradura over 15 years ago. Prior to her role as Master Taster, Enriquez Hurtado served as a specialist at Casa Herradura with a focus in various facets of the tequila production process, including sensory evaluation, research and development, quality control and new product development.Karinna has a bachelors degree from the University of Guadalajara as a Licensed Pharmabiological Chemist. At the University, she completed expert seminars in Tequila at the Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters as well as extensive training in the tequila production process. Today, Enriquez teaches in a postgraduate course of Tequila Master, at the Autnoma University of Guadalajara. A native of Jerez de Garcia Salinas, she currently resides in Guadalajara.

Born in 1870, Casa Herradura, located at Hacienda San Jose del Refugio, is the last tequila-producing Hacienda on the planet. Within its ancient walls, we craft and estate-bottle some of the finest tequilas anyone has ever tasted. It is here that we invented the first reposado and extra aejo, forever changing the world of tequila. And it is here, from the small town of Amatitn in the heart of Mexico's tequila region, that we continue to set the standard for what's to come.
