Tasting Notes
This cuve is salmon-pink in colour. It has a beautiful effervescence with a string of fine bubbles. On the nose, flavours of ripe strawberry followed by raspberry. On the finish and once the wine has warmed up slightly, notes of quince, blood orange and verbena are revealed. The well-balanced palate is dominated by notes of strawberry, raspberry but also pink grapefruit and lemon.
History
Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne. It was founded in A in 1584 by Pierre Gosset an alderman and wine-grower who made mostly red wines. At that time the region's still wines competed for pride of place on the best tables of France with the wines of Beaune which were made from the same grape varieties as they are today.
Regional Information
The Champagne region is located in North Eastern France and has four main growing regions: Montagne de Reims, Marne Valley, Cte des Blancs and Cte des Bar. Champagne Gosset is situated in the Marne Valley. It was founded in A in 1584 but since 2009 has also had premises in Epernay. The Montagne de Reims and Marne Valley surround Epernay and A and are known for their chalky soils and hillside vineyards that provide excellent growing conditions for the vines.
