The Gooch Oriental Supreme Kazak rug is a hand-knotted 100% wool piece made by artisans using traditional techniques and natural dyes. Place it as a centrepiece in your living room or dining area to add warmth and authentic craftsmanship.
Gooch Oriental Supreme Kazak is a hand-knotted pure wool rug in blue, featuring a unique design from the Hazara Tribes of Afghanistan. The wool yarns are hand spun and dyed with natural dyes such as cochineal and indigo, giving a dramatic and vibrant appearance. Each rug is meticulously crafted using traditional hand knotting techniques on a cotton warp base in Afghanistan, then finished in Pakistan. In 1 sqm of a Supreme Kazak rug there are approximately 160,000+ knots, providing a fine-density pile.
As this rug is created by hand, each one is unique, so there may be variations in design compared to the picture.
Benefits of a wool rug:
Care instructions:
As this rug is made using natural fibres, shedding is to be expected and will reduce over time. Use the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner initially, then switch to suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth; do not rub. For deeper cleaning, dilute a small amount of appropriate carpet shampoo in water, dampen a colourfast cloth, and dab the rug, moving in the direction of the pile. Treat the whole rug, then use a soft bristled brush to restore pile direction. Allow to dry thoroughly.
